A lot of people talk about the most viewed youtube videos, and all these "hilarious" clips. Well, I've been around the internet a time or two, and "charlie bit me" is far from comedy gold.
Here are some of my pics for the best videos on youtube. These are not only comical, but extremely well done, and took a lot of talent to put together.
You should be able to identify just about every frame of this video and how it relates to internet history.
really all the Tronovitch remixes are great, but he can't dominate the whole list
I'll toss up a few more when I find them.

Some interesting thoughts on people's distaste for good beer:
"In a mass society, with mass media, and a mass food and beverage industry, the tastes of those masses tend to be conditioned to a rather bland, non-distinctive common denominator. Therefore, anything with what is perceived as a "strong," (read = distinctive) taste automatically repels many people.
It's conditioning, pure and simple; if what you know is bland, be it food, beer or entertainment, then that's what you expect and what you "want.""

Will America let itself get this far? Yes, surely strict gun control is a good thing.
Don't trust police, kids.

Google's new programming language "Go" infringes on an already existing language that is 10 years old. Dubbed Issue 9, Francis McCabe's complaint is gaining internet popularity and support. The title page of Google's Go tutorial is "Let's Go", the same title as Francis's book. He has a pretty good legal leg to stand on, with a published book and tons of documented research. If only there was some way the internet-indexing monolith could have sought out similarly named languages.
Will Google, and their credo of "Don't be evil", respect this man's work, or brush him aside with pure legal strength?

Verizon doing it's best...
to make me not want their new phone.
"All of those efforts combined point to a successful device launch capable of going head-to-head with AT&T and the Apple iPhone. But, Verizon seems to be doing everything it can to make the Droid as unappealing as possible by nickel and diming customers so that actually using it is not cost-effective. "
I've never been a fan of VZW, mostly because of their customer service nightmares, but the exorbitant fees and limited unlimited plans are really annoying. No thanks, I will stick with my simple phone.

Eating on $50 a week?
4 bloggers attempt to live life on the edge.... of a budget
The trick is eating well, not 2 hotpockets and a cup of oatmeal a day. I find it interesting that the involved bloggers have trouble budgeting coffee into their week, maybe because I drink employer supplied coffee (the best kind). I like each participants' insight into the necessary spices for low budget cooking.
On budget struggles and splurging:
No surprise that $17 tofu hot dogs will cause your budget to collapse.
$112 a month now going to health insurance instead of coffee? Took you three years to figure that out?
These people have some very expensive taste, and are accustomed to very expensive foods.
Could I do it? Sure, I would undoubtedly increase the quality of food I consume, and probably be more conscious about the health implications of the foods I buy. Could you do it?

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009)
I really enjoyed Animal Collective's EP, Water Curses, so when my roommate told me he had heard a review of a new AC album on NPR (of all places), I knew I had to check it out.
First listening notes:
It has that unique feel that most of their music possesses. The odd emphasis on certain words, the weird animal noises, seemingly inconsistent drum beats that still make sense... there is a distinct Animal Collective feel. And yet, it still sounds fresh.
The building volume of repeated phrases somehow sucks you back in.
Daily Routine has a type of shrill organ that surfaces in little bursts throughout the track, definitely a unique sound when paired with the echoing vocals... and a didgeridoo? The song goes into a vocal feel of In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins.
Surprisingly, there is nothing from the Water Curses EP on this album.
First listens are tough, there are very few albums I've enjoyed the first time through, even from artists I like. In time I can see myself listening to Merriweather Post Pavilion plenty.

I've ventured into the creepy and possibly narcissistic world of live video blogging.
I will be sure to tweet an announcement of my next "Brewcast"

The possibility of seeing La Crosse, Wisconsin's name on a list that includes such places as Whistler and Park City is thrilling, to say the least. The IMBA reps that visited us seem just as enthusiastic about our topographical potential as we are. To think, La Crosse and the surrounding area could be a destination for hikers, bikers, kayakers, triathletes from around the world, is truly inspiring. Seeing the eager faces of everyone there, and hearing these professionals tell us that this is a real possibility, makes me appreciate the area of the country I call home. How to help: Human Powered Trails , IMBA
